Scientific report 2024 of the Acute Leukemia Working Party (ALWP)

The ALWP works actively with the help and the great contribution of the staff and all ALWP members. Several relevant studies have been performed during this year to elucidate the criteria for the donor choices and to refine the algorithm for donor selection. Namely in the setting of MMUD the use of PTCY is able to reduce the detrimental effect of HLA mismatches in patients with acute myeloid leukemia in remission. 

Another important achievement completed by the ALWP is the data collection on next-generation sequencing (NGS) data and use of novel drugs, with the aim to improve the quality of the registry and the scientific output of the publications to the benefit of the patient's care.  Data analysis will be performed in the upcoming months.

I am very grateful for the great enthusiasm and collaboration of colleagues and all EBMT staff for improving the quality of the data and the treatment of patients with acute leukaemia.
