As the EBMT Turkey Nurses Group (NG), we take immense pride in being part of a community that enriches each of our lives. We are thrilled to share our journey and the strides we have made this year.

Our primary mission has been to reach out to all nurses across our country through a variety of congresses, courses, and online training programs. By organising these events, we aim to continuously develop and empower nurses with the latest information, increase awareness, and enhance patient care quality through evidence-based and high-quality nursing practices.

We have engaged in a range of activities and projects that not only support each other but also contribute positively to our community. One of our most significant recent initiatives was the creation of a comprehensive brochure on key aspects of catheter care. This reference document, organised into five main sections based on common questions from nurses in transplant centres, is designed to establish a central venous catheter care standard that aligns with current guidelines. This effort is crucial for preventing complications and improving patient safety.

In addition, we are excited to announce our ongoing project: the development of a comprehensive guide on drugs used in haematological oncology. This guide aims to provide nurses with detailed information on the latest treatments, potential side effects, and best practices for administration and patient management. By equipping our members with this resource, we hope to further enhance the quality of care provided to our patients and ensure that our practices are in line with the most current scientific evidence.

Since October 2023, we have successfully organised and participated in several impactful events:

  • 18th National Apheresis Congress (Online) and 7th Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Nursing Training Program held on October 21, 2023. These events provided a platform for sharing the latest advancements and best practices in the field of apheresis and stem cell transplantation nursing.
  • Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation Nursing Course held on November 25, 2023 at Anadolu Medical Centre. This course was designed to offer in-depth knowledge and hands-on training to enhance the skills of nurses involved in stem cell transplantation.
  • Turkish Society of Haematology and EBMT-Turkey Nurse Group 16th Bone Marrow Transplantation and Apheresis Nursing Training Programme, held on March 8, 2024. This program focused on the latest techniques and approaches in bone marrow transplantation and apheresis nursing.
  • 1st Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Nursing Course held on June 1, 2024 at Yeni Yüzyıl University Private Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital. This course aimed to provide comprehensive education and training on haematopoietic stem cell transplantation nursing.

These events have provided valuable opportunities for professional development, networking, and knowledge sharing within our field. They have also been instrumental in fostering collaboration and enhancing the overall standard of nursing care.

As we step into the autumn, we are excited about the new projects, ideas, and events on the horizon. I am confident that our collective efforts will continue to drive growth and inspire positive change within our community. The unwavering dedication and contributions of each member of our group are deeply appreciated. Together, we will continue to make a meaningful difference in our field and support one another every step of the way.

In the light of science, we, as EBMT Turkey NG, continue our activities on this path and believe in our motto: "Empowering with Knowledge."
