Since 1990, the EBMT has annually conducted the Transplant Activity Survey to gather crucial hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) patient data in Europe.

The survey, running now for 34 years in Europe and the surrounding countries, has increased in size from 143 centres in 20 countries in 1990 to over 743 centres in 54 countries. Each centre contributing their transplant activity and more recently, their cellular therapy activity via the survey each year.

We deeply appreciate all centres’ ongoing participation in the activity survey over the last 34 years by reporting their annual data, making it an extremely successful enterprise which has become an essential part of the EBMT.

The Transplant Activity Survey has proven to be an invaluable tool to assess and share both transplant and cellular therapy activities with other scientific communities globally. It enables EBMT to analyse, publish and share valuable information on trends, developments and major changes not only within the EBMT environment as a whole but also with transplant centres, working parties, partners and many more experts in the field of HCT & cellular therapies technology. It is used for scientific purposes, economic planning and by health care providers. Survey data contribute to quality control of the EBMT registry and importantly fosters the community spirit of the EBMT.

In 2024, EBMT is pleased to announce a continuation of data collection via a digitalized online version of the Activity Survey. The online form includes user-friendly features, such as automated counts, improved data accuracy, the ability to save, download or print the form. Following its launch, an impressive 88.5% of submissions were received through the online platform, marking a significant achievement. We strongly encourage you to use the online form for a streamlined and efficient survey experience.

Nevertheless, for those who that have difficulties completing the survey online alternative methods of survey completion, as outlined in the manual, remain available.
