There is an exciting opportunity to apply for the EBMT Nurses Group annual scholarships and grants. These scholarships and grants will remain open until 30 June 2024. Please note the following before applying:
- Only applications received during this period will be shortlisted
- You can only apply for one scholarship or grant each year
- Any applicants who apply for more than one grant will be rejected
- If you have previously applied for or been awarded a grant in the past, you must state this in your application. Failure to do so, may result in the grant offer being withdrawn.
Next Generation Annual Meeting Grant (5 available): 1000 Euros
The EBMT Nurses Group is continuing with this grant for early career nurses, new to the field of transplantation. Each recipient will be awarded 1000 Euros towards the EBMT Annual Meeting 2025 registration, travel and accommodation.
Successful applicants are required to provide an article on their experiences at the EBMT Annual Meeting for the EBMT Post Congress Bulletin.
Application criteria:
- Working at EBMT member centre in the field of BMT and cell therapy 2-5 years
- Working in a clinical role
- Active on social media (e.g. Twitter/X) with experience of using this medium for professional communication
- Under 35 years of age
- Able to attend EBMT Annual Meeting 2025, Florence in person
How to apply - Please submit the following:
- a statement of support describing a). what being a young transplant nurse means to you and b). how you will benefit from this grant (250 words)
- a copy of ID (passport, driving licence)
Annual Meeting Grant for a nurse working with adult patients (2 available): 1000 Euros
Each recipient will be awarded up to 1000 euros towards the EBMT Annual Meeting 2025 registration, travel and accommodation. Successful applicants are required to provide an article on their experiences at the EBMT Annual Meeting for the EBMT Post Congress Bulletin.
Centre Visit Educational Scholarship (1 available): 1000 Euros
Provides the opportunity for members to gain experience and a different perspective in their area of interest. Those interested need to identify a centre that is willing to accommodate them for the duration of the centre visit. The EBMT Nurses Group will fund 1000 Euros for travel and accommodation.
Successful applicants are required to provide an article on their experiences for the EBMT Newsletter.
Exchange Grant (2 available): 1000 Euros
Provides funding for 2 people for an exchange visit between 2 different centres. Those interested need to identify a centre that is willing to accommodate them for one week and apply together with the identified exchange nurse from that centre. The EBMT Nurses Group will fund 1000 Euros each for travel and accommodation.

The Paediatric Grant: Annual Paediatric Disease Working Party Meeting OR 51st Annual Meeting of the EBMT (1 available): 1000 Euros
Provides funding up to 1000 Euros for travel, accommodation and registration for this highly valued course for Paediatric Nurses working in the field of HCT.
The successful applicant will be a nurse working in the paediatric setting and attend the next planned Paediatric Diseases Working Party meeting after the grant application period closes OR attend the EBMT Annual Meeting in 2025. Please indicate your preference in the application.
Successful applicants are required to provide an article on their experiences for the EBMT Newsletter or Post Congress Bulletin.
Outreach Nurse Annual Meeting Grant (1 available): 1500 Euros
A grant (for travel, accommodation and flights) up to 1500 Euros will be awarded to a nurse working in an outreach centre. This grant will be awarded by the President of EBMT Nurses Group and is not open to applicants.
The successful nurse who will attend the Annual Meeting 2025 in Florence will be required to provide an article on their experiences for the EBMT Post Congress Bulletin.
