4-5 October 2018 in Montpellier, France

We have asked three nurses - Alexia Michel, Julie Mieltnitchenko, Melyssa Milliere - who attended the event to share their key insights. Here is what they are telling us:

The 10th edition of the EBMT Nurses International Study Day took place in Montpellier inside the historical medical university, the oldest in the world.

All along this day, different European participants set out their specialities: acute leukaemia, therapeutic apheresis, hypnoanalgesia, adolescent and young adults.

Thanks to the multidisciplinary approach from the speakers, nurses, physicians and associations of patients, we learned more about the global treatment for the patient in haematology.

The speakers based their intervention on concrete cases and illustrated their remarks on visual material (pictures, slideshows, graphics...) which helped to understand better the contents. This day was brightened up thanks to different light meals representing the French gastronomy.

We are nurses from the haematology team in the CHU of Montpellier. According to us, this International Study was really relevant. Even though all the presentations were in English, the contents were accessible and totally intelligible. Moreover, an audio material for French translation was offered to the participants.

We invite nurses from all over Europe to join the future editions of this meeting in order to share all our practices and experiences.

We would like to thank Caroline Bompoint, chair of the French EBMT Nurses Group, who, thanks to her organisational skills, coordination and determination, made everything possible to ensure an interesting and enriching day.
